  • Welcome to Country: Australian Indigenous Language Groups and Cultural Protocols by Weerianna Street Media
    • For anyone teaching an Australian Studies component in their courses or if you have students who are interested in Indigenous Australian culture, have a look at the Welcome to Country App. I’ve downloaded it & am finding it interesting as well as good for reading/dictogloss activities from short written descriptions about local indigenous tribes; listening/viewing (many -but not all – have a video welcome from a tribal elder); and the content could also be used a starting point to discuss indigenous culture/issues/religion etc with international students.” (review by Nicki Blake)
    • iPhone only
  • ImmerseMe: Connecting Communities: VR-Based Language Learning
A new service from New Zealand using virtual reality (VR) to create an immersive experience for the language learner. They have been working in the languages other than English (LOTE) area for a while, and are now (2019) creating experiences for English language learners. Currently available for webbrowsers on desktop with iOS & Android apps coming soon.
ImmerseMe™ is about virtually stepping into a beautiful and authentic location to learn a language, so that when you travel to these wonderful places in real-life, you’ll be prepared!”
